Hi Francis...Yes, i did go to Nikolaev to visit the lady that i had been writing letters to for about 4 months prior..16 to 19 letters sent and received each month.....16-19 very nice letters... But when i get to Nikolaev, she can only see me every 3 days and that is only to go out to restaurants. But she did make time in a afternoon to log into her other dating sites that i did not know about..I spent 24 hours in planes just to travel one way to Ukraine and out or the 9 dates that i had with this Nikolaev chick, i had spent only a total of 18 hours with...After my 4th date with this Nikolaev chick, she tells me she is going on a vaction!!..I'm shocked..This chick didn't look like anything from her profile photos. It wasn't until she turned up for dinner one night in the same clothes that she is photographed in her profile, that i knew that she was the same woman..NO SHIT..How did i know i got scammed?.On our last date in Nikolaev(9 dates)i asked the lady who i travelled to visit, the only lady who i was talking to on these 'dating' sites, if i had a Russian/Ukraine girlfriend or not?..She said "I had a Russian Queen"..That was okay, i was happy that her and i were in a relationship(she called me her boyfriend and her partner in her letters to me post Nikolaev..BUT, it still didn't stop her from updating her profile on ualadys.com, 4-6 weeks after i arrived home from Nikolaev..So, i made up a profile in the men's section, added a false name, put a photo of a friend of mine(a

Hey Guys... It is obvious that you choose to learn the hard way, I have been using dating sites for a while and it is true that many have tried to scam me but so far they have not been successful. I posted a message some time back wanting to help anyone who might have questions, no one replied. If they are intelligent and clever it is your responsibility to be more intelligent and more clever, and it is quite possible. I will be interested to see the response as to how you were scammed and if you like point out to you how to avoid whatever scam was played. There are a few sites that are rather good with more honest and eligible women. But I doubt that the owners here would let me tell you the names. And if you really search the sites, including this one you will find overweight women, women with one or multiple children, women who are rather old, ones who know no English and some who are just not attractive. The beautiful women know what they have to offer and they for the most part are sick and tired of the men they deal with each day - drunks, the unemployed, selfish, wanna be playboys, abusive and unrespectful or ungrateful to the woman for what she brings to the relationship. They want better and some of them deserve it. And they are using the only bait they have - beauty. Again I will say that I do not claim to be an expert or a know it all, but I do and have learned from my many encounters and also made several successful trips abroad to spend time with a possible wife.

Jamie,Sorry about your bitter experience, but could you please elaborate on your experience in particular with the lady from Nikolaev, so it could help us all? Did you actually visit her there in Ukraine? And then what happened? How did she scam you?

Russian/Ukrainian dating-scam sites:Gentlemen, ALL of these 'dating' sites, are in fact, just letter writing sites..Most of the women who are this sites are here for one reason and one reason only...To take your money..These women are paid to talk to you..In most caes's the women are real if you travel to visit them, but you will notice that they don't look like anything in the photos that are on their profiles..These women are SUPER intelligent..They are very clever..They will write just how much you mean to them and how special you are to them, etc, etc..But, it's all lies..GUYS, take a look at the the women who are on these sites..All young, all slim, all atractive and all single???...Come on guys, wake up!!..They are bening paid commission to write letters to you..If you think I'm wrong, then try this..Set up a false profile on the site you are talking to your 'honest' and 'sincere' girl..Take a photo from a men's magazine and say that you are studing medicine or a stock brocker that travels to different countries or that you are a accountant..Sent a 'introduction' letter to your 'special' girl..And then you will see that you are just a another punter who is wasting your money..How do i know all this?..Because i got scammed by this bitch in Nikolaev..And these women have the help of the people in the agencies..I had

This forum is not adequate. You can't post twice in a row. The system won't let you, which is why I used another name. Fiance.com has a much better forum with a whole array of subjects. Sorry AOB.

You could give her the benefit of the doubt. Stop the visa process. Don't give her money or anything else, until you are comfortable. I would get an explanation for disappearing for 2 days and 5 days. But, that's just me. It is your life and your future.

Yes Kenny....you are being used and manipulated for personal gain. Any time money is even hinted at it is time to re-evaluate the entire situation. I was writing to a woman from Ukraine for about 5 months and was just about to send for a visa and secure plane tickets. Until she surprised me by telling me that she had emergency need for 1200 dollars US. A sick relative, one of the most used reasons to ask for money. That is why it is very wise to communicate with as many as you can at one time, if something goes wrong #2 on the list moves up and you are not left high and dry. It may not sound like it but my goals and intentions are good and honorable....the problem for all of us is deciding which ones are weeds and which ones are the flowers. And sadly it seems that the weeds outnumber the flowers. Good luck. Phil

I certainly would find an explanation for those times. Didn't she tell you? Your visa process has started? I repeat: you have other options. It is bad enough with us whose girls didn't disappear. If you still complain after your visa process is over, and then after your marriage, you have no other person to blame but yourself. I repeated my complaint to my girl, by the way, and she assured me she will call her agency again to remove her profile. At this point, I must warn you guys about something. Before I went to Ukraine last November, I saw it fit to send money to my girl for a cell phone because hers was not working. Before I left, I saw it fit to send her money for a train ticket and accomodations to go to Kiev. She told me later on that her agency (Not AOB), saw it fit to get 10% of the money I sent her. The second time, the agency representative went with her to the bank to make sure of the amount and get the "proper" percentage. My girl says she is not angry because without the agency, we would not have met, which is why I am not pursuing this. But, I nor the agency do not have such an agreement and I believe it is totally inappropriate. I did use Moneygram and the numbers to get the money did go through the agency and AOB, but that should not matter.
